Ishtiak Ahmed, STRIDE Student, NCSU

Ishtiak Ahmed is a doctoral student at North Carolina State University. His interest in transportation engineering has roots in mobility and safety issues on the roads of Bangladesh and in the U.S. Ishtiak is working on a STRIDE-funded project titled “Integrated Implementation of Innovation Intersection Designs.” His adviser is Dr. Nagui Rouphail. On this project, Ishtiak is focusing on signal timing analysis, experimental design and microsimulation. He is especially interested in alternative intersection designs and innovative pedestrian crossing facilities. After graduation, Ishtiak plans to continue to do research in transportation operations.
