Project Description
The Citadel Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering introduces more than 1,000 students a year to transportation engineering at three major events: Introduce a Girl to Engineering, STEM Festival, and Leadership Day at Spann Elementary. The Citadel also provides a 1-week summer camp on multimodal mobility, connected vehicles and congestion mitigation for 15-20 middle school students as a part of the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (SCGSSM)’s summer camp program. Partners in the K-12 programs include the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Lowcountry Branch, the Girls Scouts of Eastern South Carolina, the Lowcountry STEM collaborative, and local elementary schools.
